Scene safety priorities. There is no deviation from this order in civilian emergency medicine…at least there should not be.
Ironically… new students have no problem with this. Once a provider has been on the street for just a short time, they wrestle with placing their own safety in jeopardy fearing they will “get in trouble” at work.
