Mike Novak serves as the Director of Fire Services for DT4EMS, LLC, focusing on integrating the Escaping Violent Encounters (EVE) program into the fire service. He began his firefighting career in 1989 as a volunteer firefighter and currently holds the position of Battalion Chief at Branson Fire Rescue in Branson, MO, overseeing Training and Safety.
Mike completed the DT4EMS Instructor Certification (I/C) in Branson, MO, in 2010 and subsequently trained all Branson Fire Rescue personnel. His focus is on Initiative #12, which calls for the development and promotion of national protocols for responding to violent incidents.
Mike has been an instructor since 2000, initially earning certification as a SCUBA instructor. He currently teaches courses in Water/Dive Rescue, Hazardous Materials, and other fire and EMS-related disciplines. He is a Fire Service Instructor II, Fire Officer II, Certified Incident Safety Officer, Certified Health and Safety Officer, NREMT, and is pursuing a degree in Fire Service Administration.
