I’ve been doing this DT4EMS culture change movement for nearly 20 years, and the one thing I can assure you is…assaults are not really increasing. What we are witnessing is an increase in the recognition and ACKNOWLEDGEMENT of criminal assaults on staff.

With this newly found acknowledgement, some with insidious motives are trying to make a buck off the backs of healthcare. Beware of the mendacious packaged every so carefully into a pretty package.
If you picture DT4EMS and “others” within the story of the “Tortoise and the Hare”, you most certainly would recognize we have played the role of the Tortoise.
We have taken the slow patch. Our veracity tested… and proven, time and time again.
We have bypassed the quick buck to keep the integrity of our message. It’s a horrible business model to make a living, but the best one to leave a legacy.
Statistics prove emergency medical staff (ED, EMS, Fire) will face a violent encounter on the job. How they respond will be based upon training… or lack of it.
We are really a loss-prevention program when you think about it. We are trying to help prevent staff from losing:
* Career
* A legal case
* On social media
* In mainstream media coverage
* Public trust
* Personal mental/physical health
DT4EMS is all about saving yours, while you save others.
